The project reimagines an awkward 1920’s bungalow to take full advantage of an elevated position within a beautiful rural location. The original house was small, impractical and faced away from the main views. The new design reorientates the house towards the Oare Marshes and Isle of Sheppey with an open plan ground floor family space and new first floor master bedroom suite with roof terrace looking out over the stunning views.

The project involved the full renovation, extension and new first floor to the old bungalow to create a large 4 bed/ 3 bath home with a detached garage. Importantly for the client, the design retains the character of the original bungalow from the front and main approach whilst creating a more contemporary transformed appearance to the rear.

The material palette pairs London stock bricks with sage green windows, Douglas Fir sunshade and feature widow, frameless glass balustrading and wildflower planting to the roof terrace.
