Formerly a fisherman’s cottage, the original spaces felt small, the house back to front with no obvious front door entering the home through the rear garden and kitchen. The ground floor was stripped out, the kitchen relocated, and a new shower room and utility area added. An entry area and boot room was created with it’s own identity in order to provide a proper sense of arrival to the home. A new stair and the removal of an existing chimney significantly opens up the main living space whilst new feature joinery offers an efficient use of space connecting the separate spaces together. Elsewhere a large new roof window was added to the loft to provide sea views from the master bed and the house was externally renovated.
